New Zealand is well served by a multitude of bus routes that makes this a good way to get around the country. Virtually everywhere in New Zealand is accessible by coach although some smaller places may have more infrequent connections. The scheduled coach services include large coaches operated by national companies like Intercity as well as smaller minibuses, known as shuttle buses, that offer a cheaper and more flexible service. New Zealand also has a good choice of backpackers' buses such as Kiwi Experience, Magic Bus and Stray travel as well as a lot of smaller backpacker buses.
