Bus Travel in French Polynesia

The bus service in French Polynesia is called le truck, this is a great way to get around and is a definite must for every traveller. Le truck are unique vehicles, best expained as a truck converted into a bus. The windows are open, and there's just one bench seat down each side of the vehicle. Le truck is much more than a great way to get around, it's a great travel experience.

The services are most frequent on the more populated islands, so it's no surprise that Tahiti has the most extensive service. After Tahiti, both Morea and Bora Bora are reasonably well connected, however the le truck service on many of the less visited islands is much less reliable and in many cases, non-existant.
