Honolulu

Eating & Drinking

Outside of Waikiki, Honolulu is a surprisingly good value place to eat out. The city is an excellent place for both Asian and Polynesian food as well as good-value filling American breakfasts. Chinatown, in particular, is a good place for good-value authentic food.

Check the tourist papers for discount coupons if you're planning on eating out at a lot of buffet breakfast and fast food places.

Honolulu has pretty good nightlife with plenty of bars. Unfortunately this is the USA which means that you need to be 21 to legally drink and bartenders expect to be tipped. Many travellers buy beer at a local store and party back at their hostel.
