Working in Fiji

There are no working holiday programmes in Fiji, although you can apply for a work permit if you are offered a job which cannot be filled by a local.

The application process is reasonably straightforward, you get a work permit form from any Fijian embassy, fill it out and pay a processing fee. If approved, you are granted a work permit, normally valid for three years. Allow a few months for your work permit to be processed.

Some travellers find illegal work in hotels and restaurants although the money isn't really that great. It's best to wait until you're in New Zealand or Australia to find work.
