Health Cover - New Zealand

Everyone in New Zealand, including visitors, is covered by the Accident Compensation Commission (ACC; tel (04) 918 7700; website www.acc.org.nz) for medical expenses that are a result of an accident.

The ACC only covers injuries that occur in New Zealand and treatment provided in New Zealand; it will not cover additional treatment that you may need when you get home. It does not cover illness and should not be seen as an alternative to travel insurance.
